Wade Coleman

Wade Coleman

Wade H. Coleman is the firm’s Senior Partner and conducts civil trials in all State and Federal Courts. He also conducts a general practice.

A native of Valdosta, Georgia, Wade graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1962. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1965 from the University of Georgia, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1964. Wade is a member of many professional organizations including: American College of Trial Lawyers; Southern Judicial Circuit Bar Association, serving as its President in 1978; Valdosta Bar Association, serving as its President in 1975 and 1995; Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, serving on the Board of Directors from 1982-1985; State Disciplinary Board of Georgia 1980-1984; American Bar Foundation; and the Georgia ADR Commission. In addition to his professional affiliations, he has served as a member of the Board of Directors and former Chairman of the Georgia Board of Natural Resources. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of First Federal Savings & Loan Association and has previously served as Chairman. Wade is General Counsel and a permanent member of the Board of Trustees of Valdosta State University Foundation.

Richard Coleman

Richard Coleman

Richard L. Coleman is a Partner whose practice is concentrated in the areas of residential real estate, commercial real estate, estate planning, probate, and business and corporate law.

A native of Valdosta, Georgia, Richard received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Georgia in 1978. He received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in accounting 1981 from Valdosta State University and his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 1985 from Mercer University. During his college years, he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honorary business society and Phi Delta Phi international legal fraternity.

Richard is currently a member of the Valdosta Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the Florida Bar.

Edward Cochran

Edward Cochran is a Partner practicing in the firm’s Valdosta office. Edward concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, commercial transactions, affordable housing transactions, and banking. Edward has significant experience representing both developers and lenders in commercial real estate transactions.

A native of Bainbridge, GA, Edward received his B.B.A. in both Real Estate and Marketing from the University of Georgia in 2000, and his J.D. cum laude from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law in 2013. Edward is a member of the Real Estate Section of the Georgia Bar Association and the Georgia Bankers Association Bank Counsel Section.

Prior to practicing law, Edward worked in the real estate industry focusing on commercial real estate brokerage, development, and asset management.

Greg Clark

Gregory Q. Clark is a Partner of the firm practicing primarily on affordable housing and community and economic development, representing owners, developers, and contractors throughout the southeastern United States.

Greg’s practice centers on structuring and closing transactions financed with Federal and State tax credits, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and Historic Tax Credits, as well as a multitude of conventional and subsidized financing mechanisms, including: HOME funds; Bonds; Fannie Mae; HUD; AHP; USDA Rural Development sources; and various other federal and state subsidized financing sources.

Greg represents clients in all aspects of the business planning and formation process, including entity selection and tax structure. Greg also assists clients with various real estate and commercial transactions.

Greg is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Florida, the American Bar Association, and the ABA’s Forum Committee on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law.

John Boykin

John Boykin is a Partner in the firm’s Atlanta office and practices primarily in the area of commercial real estate, but he also has extensive experience in the areas of federal and state taxation, estate planning, corporate law, and general commercial law. As a result of his long-term experience with respect to commercial real estate transactions, John has developed a special interest and focus in the areas of secured real estate lending, the representation of both landlords and tenants in connection with the leasing of office, industrial and retail properties, and in the acquisition and development of real estate.

John currently represents numerous banking clients, as well as other real estate development and asset management companies, in connection with the acquisition, development, financing, disposition, and leasing of commercial real estate, and for many years served as the primary outside leasing counsel for the southeast region on behalf of one of the largest pension funds in the nation. John also currently represents several nationally based corporations in connection with their real estate and other business needs.

John received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 1976. He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Walter F. Georgia School of law at Mercer University in 1980. He received his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Florida in 1981. John is an active member of both the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of Florida.

Tom Kurrie

Tom Kurrie

Thompson Kurrie, Jr. is a Partner practicing in the areas of municipal law, public and private finance, corporate and banking law, commercial real estate development, affordable housing, business acquisitions and divestitures, ad valorem taxation, and income taxation. Prior to joining the firm, Tom’s experience included being a Tax Partner with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Atlanta, an Assistant Professor of Accounting and Taxation at Valdosta State University, and the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Griffin Corporation in Valdosta.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tom received his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from Emory University in 1970 and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Georgia State University in 1973. He earned his Juris Doctor (JD) degree in 1976 from Emory University Law School, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi. Tom was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1976 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1977.

Tom represents various business entities within the financial institution, real estate development, management services, and manufacturing industries and represents cities and governmental development authorities. He is a member of the Georgia Bankers Association Bank Counsel Section and served as its Chairman in 1996. In addition, he is a member of the Georgia Municipal Association, the State Bar of Georgia’s Tax and Real Estate Sections, the Valdosta Bar Association, American Bar Association, including the ABA’s Affordable Housing Forum, and the Georgia Affordable Housing Coalition.

Tom is the past Chairman of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Commissioners of the Valdosta Housing Authority. Tom also serves on the Board of Directors of various community organizations.

Russ Henry

Russ advises business owners, individuals, and families on a broad array of trusts and estates matters. Russ regularly provides personalized guidance on complex estate plans and wealth management goals, helping clients manage and protect their assets. He takes a careful approach to develop and implement estate planning strategies aimed at preserving multi-generational wealth. Russ has vast experience in the utilization of partnerships, limited liability companies, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and other succession planning techniques tailored to each client. He also provides guidance to clients on tax-related matters, including ways to achieve their charitable giving objectives. He is often counsel for families with multiple generations to provide consistent wealth planning throughout the family. Russ has organized and facilitated family office meetings to bring families together on common goals in the areas of tax planning, philanthropy, and the education of younger generations. Often these engagements include a general counsel function to provide access to other legal services of Coleman Talley, including commercial litigation and mergers/acquisitions.

A native of Doerun, Georgia, Russ received his BSA degree in 1992 from the University of Georgia. In 1996, he received his Juris Doctor (JD) degree (magna cum laude) from Georgia State University.

Harrison Coleman

Harrison Coleman is a third-generation member of the firm who has substantial experience in commercial real estate development, capital markets and finance with a particular emphasis on the structuring of commercial mortgage loans. Harrison’s experience includes permanent, bridge and construction lending, mezzanine finance, subordinate debt, co-lending and participation arrangements, loan sales and purchases, loan workouts, foreclosures, and restructurings. Harrison also represents landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions involving ground, space, and net leases as well as facility operating, management, and other vendor services agreements.

Harrison is currently serving as coordinating special counsel to one of the country’s premier commercial loan servicers and has dealt with a wide array of disparate issues in resolving problem loans, including borrower bankruptcy, lender liability, and competing creditor’s rights and interests; listing agreements, property management agreements and other third-party service contracts for REO assets, landlord/tenant legal matters, and property owner association governance.

Harrison is a lecturer for continuing education classes for the Georgia Bankers Association, Georgia’s banking trade organization. Harrison’s seminars focus on real estate loan due diligence procedures, loan documentation, loan participations, foreclosure, REO asset management, and lender liability matters.
Harrison is a Director and on the Executive Committee of Buckhead Coalition Inc., a member of the Development Committee for Atlanta Classical Academy, the State Bar of Georgia, International Bar Association, NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association, Episcopal High School Alumni Association, and Washington & Lee University Alumni Association. Harrison is a former Director of Peachtree Park Civic Association and currently serves as a Director of the Argonne Forest Association.
