Coleman Talley Attorney Anamaria Hazard spoke at the Georgia Planning Association Fall Conference in Athens on October 3. Anamaria was a panelist on “The Future of Single-Family Zoning in Georgia,” a discussion of the recent adoption of policies to eliminate single-family residential zoning in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the state of Oregon. The session provided an overview the history of this type of zoning, explanation of the notable new policies, and discussion of whether similar policies could be implemented in Georgia. The Georgia Planning Association is a 1,100-plus member organization of professional planners and officials who serve Georgia’s communities at all levels of government and within the private sector and not-for-profit organizations.
