Kayla Barnes
Kayla Barnes is an Associate in Coleman Talley’s Atlanta office. Her litigation practice focuses on commercial litigation, professional property management of affordable housing, and property tax appeals of affordable housing.
Kayla regularly works with her clients to obtain significant decreases in their property tax assessments.
A native of Cordele, Georgia, Kayla received her Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in International Affairs and Criminal Justice in 2016 and her Juris Doctor cum laude in 2019, both from the University of Georgia. Kayla is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society. As a student at the University of Georgia School of Law, Kayla was a Dean’s Ambassador and an Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law. Kayla was also a member of the W. Homer Drake, Jr. Georgia Bankruptcy American Inn of Court.
Kayla is admitted to practice in Georgia’s State and Federal Courts, including the Southern District of Georgia, Middle District of Georgia, the Northern District of Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia. She is a member of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division and Georgia Association for Women Lawyers.
