Coleman Talley LLP is pleased to announce that attorney J. Cullen Byrne has been named a Partner of the firm, effective January 1, 2022. Cullen previously served as Of Counsel to the firm and will continue to work in its Atlanta office in his new role.

Cullen’s practice is concentrated in the areas of corporate law and commercial real estate, representing private equity, venture capital, real estate funds, institutional limited partners, sophisticated private investors, operating businesses, developers, family offices, and other entities.

Cullen guides his clients through a wide variety of business milestones, such as mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, debt and equity capital financing, and the formation of joint ventures. He is skilled in the drafting and negotiation of complex partnership and operating agreements for a wide variety of corporate and real estate investments, and regularly guides start-up and early-stage companies from formation through all stages of growth.

Cullen also serves as outside general counsel to a number of clients, providing key support to legal departments in a variety of industries including financial services, technology, and commercial real estate.

Prior to joining Coleman Talley, Cullen founded a boutique corporate law firm and held in-house legal counsel roles at a national financial-services holding company and a Fortune 500 business-services provider.

Cullen is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, Atlanta Bar Association, and American Bar Association. He earned his BA from Auburn University and obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board.
