Jefferson M. Starr is a Partner in Coleman Talley’s Litigation and Corporate Practice Groups, bringing a strategic and results-driven approach to both complex litigation and business transactions. He serves clients across a range of industries, including retail, restaurant, hospitality, healthcare, and commercial construction.

In his litigation practice, Jeff represents clients in a wide array of matters, from general liability defense to intricate commercial disputes. He has secured favorable jury verdicts in both the State and Superior Courts of Georgia. His commercial litigation experience includes high-stakes business disputes, multi-million dollar shareholder conflicts, and complex business separations.

Jeff also serves as outside general counsel to numerous privately held businesses, offering comprehensive legal counsel on operational issues and strategic initiatives. He regularly guides clients through critical business transactions, including buy- and sell-side asset and equity deals with a focus on founder-owned businesses. His transactional practice covers a broad spectrum of agreements, from service contracts and commercial leases to specialized location agreements with major Hollywood production companies.

Additionally, Jeff provides foundational business counsel to entrepreneurs and emerging companies, assisting with entity selection, formation, capitalization, and organizational structuring.

Jeff earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law and holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.
